If you are like me and care about leaving a better world for future generations then I think you will understand the concept of regenerative travel.
How can we do things better?
With the pandemic hitting the travel industry so hard this year, a new opportunity is here for us. Besides continuing to practice sustainable travel, the world calls for regenerative travel, where we can actively improve the areas that we visit instead of just preserving them, and where you can make this world a better place for the communities at your destination.
It requires looking at the world as a renewing world: In this new area of travel less could be more, and quoting Dr. Susanne Becken: A shift towards more local, and maybe ‘slower travel’, brings major benefits for reducing the carbon footprint of tourism.
For me creating experiences where value is added to your vacation, helping you travel with a purpose, and making sure you are staying at a hotel that has green, sustainable, and regenerative practices is my goal!
It is time for us to do more for the community and places that we visit than what we take from them.
What are your thoughts?
