3 Ways to Celebrate Earth Day

Updated: Aug 27, 2020

For us at Ethnosphere Travel, every day is Earth Day, we love our planet so much that our goal is to help people see and experience this beautiful place we call home, but we are also very serious about protecting it, so this holiday give us a reason to encourage others to find ways to go green.

Today is a great day to celebrate earth day and set up goals to be environmentally conscious for the next years to come.

1. Take a walk or ride your bike

Take a walk during your lunch today, if your bike has been a home or garage decoration for while, today is a good day to take it out. Not only will you'll be reducing your carbon footprint but also you get to enjoy fresh air.

2. Invest in a reusable water bottle

When I travel I always bring a reusable water bottle with me. Not only those this help to keep me hydrated, but it also reduces the amount of plastic I consume and it can save you money.

According to Forbes, it is estimated that by 2050 the ocean will contain more plastic by weight than fish. The plastic that finds its way into the oceans inevitably will pose a risk of ingestion by sea birds, fish, marine mammals, etc. It's not uncommon to see articles of sea life found dead with significant amounts of plastic in their stomach.

3. Pick up trash for a couple minutes

This past weekend we partnered up with Adventure Aide on a community clean up at Monrovia Canyon CA , which was one of the many events across the country going on in an effort to keep our oceans, lakes, trails, and parks clean. Monrovia Canyon is a beautiful hike with a waterfall at the end. It's so beautiful that while you hike you are constantly looking up admiring the Canyon. This time we decided to look down and unfortunately we found many plastic water bottles, coffee cups, plastic caps, and lots more. It felt good to be able to clean such a beautiful trail but at the same time it is very important to share the message of keeping our trails clean and keeping our world clean! Go to Adventure Aide to check out all the great things these guys are doing.
